Our new topic is 'Famous Faces' and this week we have started learning about the author Roald Dahl. In literacy we have been reading, 'George 's Marvellous Medicine' and have loved how Roald Dahl describes Grandma. Today we have had an amazing time making our own marvellous medicine. We chose different ingredients and described them with adjectives as we added them to the mixture. The smell and texture of the medicine was fantastic!
Last half term we had a wonderful time learning hockey skills. Each Wednesday we had coaches and young leaders from St. Edwin' s Middle School teaching us how to dribble a ball with a hockey stick, how to stop the ball and pass. We played some fun team games too.
Over the week we have designed our own monsters and then described them using interesting adjectives. We had to think about what they looked like, moved like, sounded like and smelt like. We had some brilliant ideas!
In maths we looked at 3-d Shapes, naming and describing them. We used boxes and recyclable 3-d objects to make our own monsters. Don't they look good?
This morning Year 2 came into school to discover an unknown egg! We don't know where it has come from or what might be inside! We have been watching it all day. Our latest topic is 'Monsters' so we are wondering if some sort of monster is inside!!

Last week we started the new term off with a circus themed week which was great fun! We had several professional workshops and then took part in a whole school 'Big Top' performance to our parents. We learnt lots of new skills like juggling scarves, balancing a peacock feather, spinning plates and walking the tightrope. It was a fantastic week!
