Farm

Year 2 had yet another fab day at the farm exploring the orchards and the trees, sketching the cows and making animal faces out of natural objects such as leaves, twigs and stones.  Once again we got quite muddy but it was lovely to be out in the fresh air seeing evidence of spring.

Telling Stories

We had a fantastic lesson retelling the story of 'George 's Marvellous Medicine' using our magical story path.  The children did a fabulous job of retelling the story in their own words.

Red Nose Day

We had a great day making our faces funny for money in aid of Comic Relief.

World Book Day

Last Thursday was World Book Day and we had some amazing visitors in Year 2!  Fantastic Mr. Fox and Mr. Twit, who must have heard we were reading Roald Dahl stories this term, arrived closely followed by Professor Dumbleton,  Mr Bump  and many  more favourite story characters. Mrs Thomas was The Worst Witch for the day but managed not to turn anyone into a frog!

George ' s Marvellous Medicine

Our new topic is 'Famous Faces' and this week we have started  learning about the author Roald Dahl.  In literacy we have been reading, 'George 's Marvellous Medicine' and have loved how Roald Dahl describes Grandma.  Today we have had an amazing time making our own marvellous medicine. We chose different ingredients and described them with adjectives as we added them to the mixture. The smell and texture of the medicine was fantastic!
