Quentin Blake Art

Last week we looked at how Quentin Blake illustrates many of Roald Dahl 's stories.  We did an amazing job drawing story characters in the style of Quentin Blake using water colours.  They are now displayed beautifully in our classroom.

Super Sentences

Today we had a fun and active English lesson sorting out the four different types of sentences: statements, commands, exclamations and questions.  The children enjoyed a game in the hall running to the correct sentence sign when a sentence was read out.  They then went on to do their own group sorting and recording. They worked so hard! A very productive lesson.

Northern Lights

As part of our Winter Wonderland topic we have created beautiful chalk pictures of the Northern Lights.  We looked at photographs of them and the colours.  The Northern Lights glow brightly against the night sky,  so we used black paper for our background.  We have displayed our art outside the classroom for everyone in the school to see. We are very proud of our pictures.

Yoga Taster Session

Today we had a lovely time using our bodies to stretch and make shapes to tell a story.  We also had a duck on our tummies as we laid on the floor to help us focus on our breathing.  We really enjoyed this yoga Taster session with 'Tatty Bump Yoga'.

Marvellous Medicine

As part of our Famous Faces topic we have been learning about the author, Roald Dahl.  Over the last two weeks we have been reading 'George's Marvellous Medicine'.  We had great fun mixing our own wonderful medicine and we came up with some fantastic adjectives to describe the ingredients.
