European Day of Languages

On Thursday 26th September we celebrated European Day of Languages. The children went around the Key Stage 1 classrooms in their Houses, each house looked at a different country. In Queen, Mrs Hickey planned activities about Romania. We learnt useful Romanian phrases such as, hello - 'Salut', goodbye - 'La revedere' and good morning - 'Buna dimineata'. We also learnt how to count to 10 in Romanian. We found out that Romania is famous for its beautiful palaces and castles. The Bran Castle is the setting for the Myth of Dracula and lots of tourists visit the Castle. We made Dracula masks and coloured the Romanian flag. We had a fantastic day and enjoyed learning about all the countries.
